Position: Director - Glass Manufacturing Project
Project Overview:
The project aims to establish a specialty Glass Manufacturing facility in Gujarat, India, with a total investment of 120 crore INR. This venture is backed by JSG, his founder Saurabh Kapoor (in.linkedin.com/in/saurabhjsg), a 50-year legacy company with over 3000 employees, specializing in auto ancillary OEM parts for significant 2W and 4W auto OEM suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring successful completion from inception to operation.
- Ensure efficient erection and commissioning of greenfield Glass Manufacturing Projects, focusing on quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate with Chinese suppliers to procure major plants and machinery, managing the process effectively.
- Lead an Indian team for erection and commissioning activities, overcoming visa restrictions by the Indian govt due to the Chinese team not coming to India for installation, coordinating with them, learning all attributes, and implementing exact and international travel requirements for project continuity.
- Focus on the successful installation and operation of the furnace, a critical aspect of the project's success, requiring deep expertise in glass furnace installation and commissioning.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in the erection and commissioning greenfield projects for Glass Manufacturing, demonstrating proficiency in project management.
- Expertise in managing projects involving machinery procurement from China, ensuring smooth coordination and timely delivery.
- Strong leadership skills to build and lead a diverse team, fostering collaboration and cohesion.
- Ability to navigate visa restrictions and international travel requirements, ensuring project continuity.
- Proven track record of meeting project budgets and timelines, focusing on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Duration and Commitment: Minimum commitment of 4 years to ensure project stability and continuity, with a willingness to travel to China during critical project phases.
- Setup Production & Building Team to take care of profit center & the company from top line & bottom line both.
Team Building:
- Built and lead a competent team for manufacturing and commissioning activities, ensuring the recruitment of skilled professionals within budget and timeline.
- Provide training and support to ensure team competency and cohesion, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Budget and Time Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets effectively, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones.
- Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety, maximizing efficiency and profitability.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Foster open communication channels with internal and external stakeholders, promoting transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate closely with Chinese suppliers and Indian team members to address challenges and ensure project success, providing regular updates and reports to senior management.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies, proactively addressing issues to minimize disruptions.
- Please ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle, mitigating legal and operational risks.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure the reliability and performance of the manufacturing facility, conducting regular inspections and audits.
- Maintain product quality and consistency, meeting or exceeding customer expectations and industry standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability, soliciting feedback from team members and stakeholders to identify improvement areas and implement appropriate solutions.
Note: The deserving candidate will be offered a Director-level position with an extraordinary package, perks, and ESOPs, which at the end of 4 years will be valued at a minimum of upto 4 Crore INR, recognizing their contributions and commitment to the project's success with the highest level of integrity.
