Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for thermal design of X-ray generation products, specifically focusing on design and analysis of X-ray tube anodes, frame and housing.
Coordinate with physical tests and simulations to establish and verify thermal models that can accurately predict required characteristics
Use Ansys Workbench, APDL and Creo extensively to simulate thermal and structural models
Develop new techniques and simulation capabilities to reduce overall simulation and design cycle time
Work with cross-functional and global teams to align with simulation capabilities and knowledge sharing
Develop test plans, test documentation and perform testing
Designing new products and/or supporting Installed Base of mechanical components & subsystems using Mechanical Engineering principles.
Execute design to engineering standards
Work with patient/customers and/or technical leaders to ensure that the technical deliverables are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiatives
Seeks mentoring to learn and for problem solving
Engaging in all phases of new product development, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support
Identifying and developing new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives in the modality product line
Defining and executing component design verification
Developing innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability
Maintain and develop competence required for the job
Required Qualifications
Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in relevant field
Good experience with Ansys Workbench, APDL and Creo extensively to simulate thermal and structural models
Desired Characteristics
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
