Responsible for the Strategic Sourcing activities at Howden India which includes development of the suppliers with right quality within Budget as per Howden global standards, Will be part of Strategic Sourcing team of Howden India.
What Needs To Be Done
- Drive defined sourcing strategies to achieve the business objectives of cost, delivery and quality
- To provide regional support for Commodity management (Castings, Forgings, Machined components, Bought out components ..etc)
- Support Howden Global BU RFQ's and PO placement through strategical decisions on supplier selection, negotiations, technical support and contract execution.
- Evaluation and selection of new suppliers, development of existing suppliers, and overall supplier management
- Competitive negotiations to drive deflation in region with the supplier base. Manage supplier contracts, supply agreements, and /or e-auctions with preferred suppliers in the region to ensure that market trends, supplier performance, and future business needs are aligned
- Monitor, forecast, and develop strategies to capitalize on macroeconomic and industry trends impacting the assigned commodity and business in region to minimize total material costs, ensure material availability, capacity, and quality
- Drive cost reduction programmes with cross functional teams
- Collaborate with supporting functions (engineering, quality, and regional teams) to achieve plan
- Drive strategic initiatives on supplier rationalization, single source dependency reduction and continuous improvement of Sourcing process
- Having experience of handling Global requirements from India related to commodities like Castings, Forgings and bought out components
- Good team player, ability to take proactive decisions
- Engineering Graduate with relevant experience of 10-15 years from Engineering/Semi Automotive/Manufacturing
