Main Purpose of the Job
- Design and Detail Engineering in the area of Piping, Utilities and Water systems for new Greenfield as well as Brownfield projects
- Supervising Utilities, Water System & Piping Engineering team
- Conceptualization of project
- Scope finalization in consultation with Business Units & other stakeholders
- Adaptation of international & Indian Standards and industrial best practices
- Co-ordination with Business Unit, PM, Consultant, Technology provider
- Interface Engineering and Management
- In-house Basic Engineering - Utility & Water balances, PFDs, P&IDs, HAZOP studies
- Develop Capability for estimation of project BOQs
- Value engineering
- Design optimization
- Design & Detailed Engineering in 3D
- Review engineering
- Procurement Engineering
- Preparation of Technical Specifications, tender analysis and preparation of TER
- Interdisciplinary co-ordination
- Health & Safety Management
- Design & Engineering - Monitoring & control
- Checking for completeness & correctness of deliverables.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS office. Experience in 3D modelling softwares, model review in Navisworks and clash checking is preferable.
- Exposure of Utilities & Water system related software (ex- CEASAR II, Pipenet, Aspen, AFT etc.)
- Development of engineering data base & literature survey, documentation
Key Accountabilities - In-house Design & Engineering - Utilities, Water & Piping.
- Safety in design engineering.
- Conceptualisation, Basic & Detail Engineering (includes Procurement Engineering).
- Completeness & Correctness of project drawings/documents, maintaining quality of deliverables
- Timely delivery of project drawings/documents.
- Value engineering, design optimisation, implementation of best practices either in technology or ensure D&E deliverables meeting fit to purpose as per
standards/norms. - Capability development of team for D&E activities.
- Part of team for creating or evolving procedures for executing the D&E activities converging towards stake holders- expectations/requirements.
- Scope finalisation, Engineering schedules, risks identification & mitigation measures and corrective actions wherever required during execution.
- Engineering change management with justifications.
