Duties

Basic Function of the Position: This position is in the Facility Management Office (FAC). Under the guidance of the New Embassy Compound (NEC) Supervisory Mechanical Engineer, the position oversees the daily management of the NEC Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant (W/WWTP) Systems operations and maintenance program. S/he will supervise 4 NEC W/WWTP Treatment Operators, HVAC Technicians, Maintenance Mechanic Plumbers, Trades helpers and other staff individually and in teams and oversees work of contractors. S/he will apply sound supervisory and management principles and techniques in operating and maintaining the NEC W/WWTP systems. S/he will support project management. S/he will oversee extensive safety program and manage significant and complicated infrastructure and equipment. S/he will manage systems in accordance with the Bureau of Overseas Building Operations (OBO) standards and the International Building Core(IBC). The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Four years of experience in the operations and maintenance of water treatment or wastewater treatment or similar mechanical systems.

Education Requirements:

Completion of Secondary School (Class XII) and apprenticeship or vocational training as producing journeyman level in the field of heating or ventilation or air conditioning or plumbers and/or mechanical system specialist trained in the maintenance of commercial or industrial buildings/facilities is required.


Indicate on the qualifications questionnaire all the education details as relevant for the position (Secondary school and/or higher for this vacancy). (Your answer should also let us know if you have completed Class X or XII or any other degree or vocational courses. Also, please specify the name of the Certificate/Degree/Diploma course and the major subjects for each qualification you possess.

LANGUAGE REQUIRED:


Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) in English & Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required. English language may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Valid Indian/International Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license is required.


Please attach a copy of the valid Indian driving license with the application along with all the mandatory/required documents. Applications which do not have a copy of the license will not be accepted.


Please note: U.S. Government regulations require all Chauffeurs or Incidental drivers for official vehicles to be 25 years of age or older. We will not consider candidates below 25 years of age. Any applicant that possess a valid driving license issued for less than 5 years will not be considered. Please note 5 years should have been completed by the Closing date of the vacancy. If the applicant had renewed their driver’s license they must include copy of old and current driver’s license in order for HR to confirm the issuance date. Applicants not providing old and renewed driver’s license (if applicable) their application will not be considered for the position. In case of international driving permit, the person must get Indian driving license within the probationary period (6 months).


“Applicants must have the visual ability to recognize and distinguish among traffic control signals and devices showing standard red, green and amber colors. Selected applicant/s will be required to undergo the mandatory medical testing before starting in the job''.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
