Role
As the Manufacturing Quality Line In-charge Engine Plant you will be part of the Quality Function and will report to the Manufacturing Quality Shift In-charge Engine Plant and be part of the Manufacturing Quality Function.The purpose of your role is to Ensure defect free processes/production in the Engine Plant (Al/Steel phase, gear section, heat treatment, engine assembly) through evaluation & improvement of product & process quality and adherence to Quality Assurance System, to achieve zero customer complaints and zero rejection (rework and scrap).
A purpose driven role for you
Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Ensure manufacturing of high quality products to ensure compliance with global standards
- Analysis of internal failures (rework, rejection, MI/FI defects) and external failures (market issues, warranty)
- Identify/execute improvement projects
- Periodic review of projects & KPIs.
- Plan and Lead Quality improvement activities and Initiatives impacting ‘Build Up Quality’.
- Identify and audit Critical to Quality Stages.
- Evaluate Process and Machine Capability
- Implementation of QM Matrix of CTQ Machine.
- Effective Functioning of CTQ Machines.
- Analyse deviations, identify/execute improvement projects & periodic reviews
- Support in building a flexible production system designed to ensure smooth mass production, pre-empt losses, and defect free launch/ramp-up of new models.
A Day in the life
- On a day-to-day basis you will be- On a day to day you will be coordinating with the external and internal teams such as Manufacturing, Supplier Quality , SAS, GB, Market Quality, Business/Op excellence etc.
- You purpose of the above interactions will be to provide resolution to market issues,
- Improvement in design, New model testing & ramp-up as well as overall process improvements.
Academic Qualification & Experience
• Graduation/Diploma in Engineering
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in manufacturing, and 2-3 years in an automotive firm
