Key result area: To comply with operating room policy and protocol To assist the OR manager to maintain the operating room standards To assist the OR manager to maintain the standards in CSSD
General Responsibilities: Checking check-list on main central oxygen supply unit and stand by oxygen units every day and follow the instruction when ever oxygen pressure is low. Collecting oral report on biological indicator on every Monday and collecting the hard copy from Nu South, Any variation in the report inform the OR Manager immediately Complete the following check-list on daily basis Defibrillator Anesthesia machine for all 2OR Prepare the theater for the surgery before patient comes, that includes the working condition of the following
OR table Suction Apparatus A C OR Light Diathermy machine Camera Light source Ligasure Vessel Sealer machine Pari- blaster Insufflator and CO2 cylinder (according to the procedure) Provides instruments, supplies and equipment for procedure in a sterile manner. Positioning the patient for particular surgery Read check-list for the particular procedure, before commencing surgery Ensure gauze, mop count is done and document the same in the patient identification board announce loudly after documentation Observes and enforces strict standards of asepsis Connect IV fluids according to the anesthetist advice Pack and send the specimens as per the protocol Participate in time out Ensure that the TLD badge is always in use and send that for admin once in 3 month for reading To operate carefully and maintain C-Arm machines Checking the AC filter cleaning work done by the maintenance team and singing in the check-list Washing endoscopes, fiber-optic cable and cameras In case of faults or break down of any of the machine, bring it to the notice of the OR Manager Record and edit the endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures To make sure cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in and around the department.
Supervision: OR cleanliness Completion of work by OR assistant and house –keeping team
Participate: General cleanliness and maintenance of OR complex Continuing education programme Follow the specimen handling and transport protocol for all specimens
