Designation : Systems Engineer / SRE (Site Reliability Engineer)Experience : 3 to 5YearsLocation : KolkataNotice Period : Immediate To 30DaysSystems Engineer / SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) Job Requirements---------------------------------------------------------------Responsibilities:· Design, implement, and maintain physical and logical Linux-based infrastructure on a variety of hardware· Collaborate with development teams on solutions for products and features· Propose and test new solutions when needed (Proof Of Concept)· Develop utilities to automate tasks· Provide support (during and after business hours) for existing products and features, including:o Notification of incident status to stakeholderso Incident diagnosiso Escalation to appropriate team memberso Incident resolutiono Incident report / root cause analysisMinimum Qualifications:· 3+ years experience with RHEL (preferred) or Ubuntu derivatives· Thorough understanding of:o Virtualization concepts (level 1 & 2 hypervisors, OS containers, app containers)o Basic distributed systems concepts (clustering, CAP, RAFT, erasure coding)o Load balancing concepts, strategies, and technologieso Networking concepts (VLANs, LACP, OSI layers, VXLAN)o Application design (tradeoffs in monolith vs services, state storage)o Deployment design (CI/CD pipelines, 12 factor app concepts, dependency management)o Service meshes (service discovery, integration with applications)· Proficient at:o Using version control systems (Subversion, Git)o Advanced Bash scripting (and knowing when to avoid it)o Writing small apps in Python or Perlo Using configuration management tools, preferably Ansible (writing roles, writing/running playbooks)o Verbal and written communication (emphasis on minimizing misunderstands)o Reading and interpreting code in various languages· Proficient at configuring:o Apache / PHP (multiple named vhosts, TLS)o BIND / NSD ( zone updates, BIND master / replicas)o MySQL / Postgres databases ( secure installation, access management)o File systems (LVM, NFS, ZFS)Pluses:· Familiarity with:o Configuring Python or Perl stacks (uWSGI, supervisord)o LDAP management (understanding of LDIF and complimentary commands)o Mail services: Postfix / Deovecot / amavisd (SASL, mappings)o Administrating XenServer / Xen Hypervisorso Working with Oracle Database environmentso PHP programmingo PCI compliant systems
