The Role: 


We are seeking a System Requirements Engineer with capabilities and experience in Functional Safety to work with our global Functional Safety team and support GKN ePowertrain AWD/eDrive Product development.


Key responsibilities include: 


  • Apply reuse strategy through managing concerned requirements
  • Lead and execute System Requirements Analysis
  • Lead reviews across domains (SWE, HWE, MEE) concerning System Requirements and ensure alignment with system architectural specification 
  • Report requirement analysis status (baseline, dashboards, queries and metrics)
  • Support Lead Systems Engineer in planning and product release
  • Support System Test Manager in planning for integration and qualification test
  • Analyse System Requirements 
  • Create and update the requirements specification for eDrive and AWD systems
  • Create baseline, dashboards, reports, queries and metrics 
  • Ensure alignment with system architectural specification
  • Ensure quality of the System Requirements Specification as well as the Subsystem Requirements Specifications
  • Establish bidirectional traceability between stakeholder requirements and System Requirements in Requirements Management Tool
  • Execute change management for requirements changes
  • Identify and analyse System Requirements via use cases and in line with system architectural design
  • Identify System Requirements
  • Support configuration management and requirements elicitation
  • Support winning new business (analysis of RFI / RFQ and compliance)
  • Transform the defined stakeholder requirements into a set of System Requirements that will guide the design of the system

Who you’ll be: 


This Role adds value by gathering and managing requirements in a change-controlled environment, for the life of the programme, in-line with the ASPICE® compliant GKN engineering processes for eDrive and AWD systems. Ensures traceability to stakeholder requirements and between (sub)-System Requirements.


Essential Skills


  • Degree: Bachelors in engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics) / Bachelor in Physics or similar
  • 3 years of experience as i.e. System Requirements Engineer or similar
  • 1 year of experience in analysing requirements
  • 1 year of experience as Test / Calibration Engineer or similar
  • Requirements engineering fundamentals i.e. IREB® Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering - Foundation Level
  • Knowledge of the relevant ISO26262(2018) and Automotive SPICE is mandatory
    • Personal certification within ISO26262 (e.g. AFSP) is of benefit
  • System Engineering Concepts
  • Any one of the Failure detection and analysis topics covered under Systems Engineering

Tool Skills


  • PTC Integrity
  • Enterprise Architect

Language Skills 


Must be fluent in English
