Supplier Quality Engineer - AFM in India to support local supplier certification and quality issue resolution.
- Support and enable the implementation of robust quality product design and development (APQP), processing (Core Tools and PPAP) and warranty for internal AFM production locales
- Support and enable the effective evaluation of potential and/or existing suppliers to predict and ensure the quality of delivered products and/or processes. Enable supporting corrective action systems to support existing suppliers in the event of quality escapes. Support and continuously manage the reduction of warranty & supplier’s internal defective rate
- Analyze parts with warranty and/or 0km problem with supplier together, drive suppliers to implement 8D activities in time
- Follow up and drive suppliers to implement cost recovery because of warranty and/or 0km problems
- Monitor & train suppliers to build up robust change control management according to PHINIA’s requirements
- Support & drive suppliers to build and/or refine Quality Management System by regular on-site support such as process audit, product audit, QMS audit, surprise audit, etc.
- As appropriate, align with peers/Council across all regions to develop StdW in approach of the overall QLMS
- Effectively partner with functional team members such as:
- Engineering: Support launch, product/process review, APQP, PPAP, Supplier MCA, process audit, product audit, change control management, etc.
- Supply Chain: Support sourcing evaluation, production capacity analysis, on-time delivery, component cost reduction, E&O parts disposal, etc.
- Effectiveness results include systematic control and continued improvement of typically the following KPIs:
- PPM defects (internal, external and supplier)
- Supplier Performance Ratings (Scorecards, PPAP, PRR, etc)
- Customer Complaints (Quantity, Repeats, and Time to Close).
- Compliance to customer required quality management systems such as IATF, ISO, VDA, etc.
- Attainment of 100% internal Ppk results as/where appropriate
- Successful New To Range (NTR) launches and/or product/process changes (internal or supply chain)
- Delivery Arrears (On-Time Delivery)
- Personnel and personal training depth
- Customer performance ratings/feedback
- Efficiency results include systematic control and continued improvement of typically the following KPIs:
- Warranty Expense compared to Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). Leverage Paynter charts for predictive analysis
- Warranty cost avoidance when AFM is not at fault
- Achieving targeted value added savings through focused process/product improvements
- Meeting the quality system budget
- Days On-hand Inventory
- Lead Time by product family
