Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the long-term vision for the team's engineering platform, including data transport, analytics and business intelligence.
- Trive and maintain a high bar for engineering excellence to support 4-9s availability 24/7 in a full DevOps model, including driving investigations to determine root cause and implement solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with product management and distributed systems engineering teams to complete large scale projects with impact across the company.
- Operate in an Agile development environment.
- Support the team's engineering excellence by performing code reviews and mentoring junior team members
- Motivate and champion a strong team culture
- Natural at writing unit tests and integrating into CI/CD
- Diagnosed complex customer issues and take ownership of issue resolution
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of Software Development experience Experience in Core Java, Concurrency, Distributed Computing and Scalable web services
- Experience working with frameworks such as SprintBoot, JPA/Hibernate is very desirable.
- Experience designing RESTful services and APIs using frameworks like Jersey or Spring.
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure services on AWS/Azure/GCP
- Experience with scaling backend services using caching technologies such as Redis.
- Design backend messaging infrastructure using frameworks like Kafka.
- Experience with services deployed in cloud-computing environments, Azure, AWS or GCP. Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g. Bamboo, Jenkins Pipeline, or Spinnaker)
- Application or network monitoring knowledge is a plus (HTTP, DNS, ICMP, TCP and/or UDP).
- Bachelors and/or Masters in computer science or related field of study
