- Apron feeders
- Rail Car handling equipment
- Stock yard handling equipment & Port handling equipment
- Conveyors
We are looking for dedicated professionals who have a strong Engineering knowledge in the field of Bulk Material Handling (BMH) equipment to work closely with the Global Engineering Teams and Global Product Line Teams to drive the harmonization and globalization of our Engineering deliverables & technical documentation. The incumbent’s top priority is to drive 100% On time delivery and accuracy of the deliverables.
The candidate will be part of the GBP SVS Engineering Team based in Vadodara, Gujarat, supporting multiple Material Handling projects. The successful candidate must be proactive and able to demonstrate the ability to work in a leadership role, but also in a team orientated environment. Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills are mandatory requirement.
Qualification:
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering /Master’s in Mechanical Engineering discipline from reputed universities of India .
- Applicants with relevant experience (18-20 years) in Engineering execution from reputed multinational companies would be preferred with min 10+ years of team handling & people management experience.
Essential Functions
- Management, organization, and development of the local BMH engineering team.
- Review and Approve engineering, design and detailing support as needed for project execution.
- Preparation and review of Design Calculations & Detail Drawings as per global governing standards.
- Continuous review, improvement, and development of working processes and procedures in the area of responsibility.
- To ensure and implement 100% On time delivery & 100% accuracy in first attempt initiatives.
- Resourcing and organization of external capacity, if required
- Monitor use, development, and application of Metso IP
- Align Engineering functional processes and workflows with all functional groups in the business life cycle.
- Maintain a Continuous Improvement mindset in Metso’s PLM.
Job Duties and Responsibilities ( To be driven from BMH Engineering team)
- Manage all engineering operations for assigned groups locally in close co-ordination with SVS GBP Engineering global stake holder. Consistency and uniformity in Engineering designs and deliverables is vital need.
- Working closely with Product Line Engineering and Product Managers, provide technical guidance to other departments including Sales & Proposals, Order Management, Manufacturing, Procurement & Logistics, Project Management and Field Service.
- Determine correct engineering resources for providing root cause analysis (RCAs) both in-house and the field to ensure that we deliver the correct product preventing reoccurrences.
- Maintains engineering documentation in support of product design, global company standards, and regulatory requirements through the appropriate Engineering Data Management systems (EDMs)
- Monitor, review and evaluate engineering performance and take corrective action if required.
- Ensure that all work complies to relevant statutory requirements and standards, as applicable.
- Ensure that all the equipment designed by the department is fit and safe for the intended application.
- Provide project support to ensure optimum scheduling for engineering resources.
- Provide organization and managerial support to internal and external projects.
- Attend project review meetings and provide necessary reporting on a regular basis.
- Motivates high levels of performance within the department.
- Participates in hiring and employment decisions and conducts regular performance review meetings with employees to give timely feedback.
- Assists employees with development needs and sets performance targets and objectives.
- Prepare design ideas and solutions for Bulk equipment in mechanical and structural disciplines.
- Apply mechanical engineering knowledge, principles, and best practices to meet customer requirements and specifications.
- To ensure smooth and precise execution of mechanical and structural 3D models shop drawings, specifications, and procedures to facilitate fabrication, construction, and assembly for Bulk equipment or services to refurbish, upgrade, or retrofit.
- Maintain a commitment to quality, ethics, and safety.
- Travel (up to 20%) may be required as needed, including both domestically and internationally.
- Ability to organize, prioritize tasks in a dynamic multi-project environment.
- Understanding need for confidentiality and ensure to secure company intellectual property.
Technical Competencies:
- Applicants need to have significant experience in any of the product lines mentioned above.
- Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards like IS, ASME, DIN & FEM is preferred.
- Competent problem solver with sound understanding of engineering principles.
- Knowledge of FEA & DEM would be an added advantage.
Software Competencies:
- In his previous assignment expertise in 2D & 3D drafting and Solid modelling is preferred.
- Working knowledge on Inventor, Autodesk EDM Vault Solutions SAP is a must have etc.
- Working Knowledge on any other PDM PLM Inventor or any PDM inventor is good to have etc.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
