- Leverage contemporary scientific practices and interventions in the design and management of mental healthcare and emotional wellbeing services for the assigned athletic group
- Collaborate with a multi-functional team of technical coaches and sports science professionals to develop interventions that maximise athletic care; provide consulting support to sports technical team that compliments holistic athletic development
- Lead the formulation, scheduling and delivery of mental and emotional healthcare training programs for individual and group of athletes, during both off and in-season periods
- Research and analyse athletes motivation, personality, and performance to improve their self-efficacy through physiological contexts such as biomechanics and kinesiology
- Design and deliver outreach programs, workshops, and psychological / educational group presentations for athletic teams / staff members; provide direct counselling / psychotherapy services to athletes / staff members on both scheduled and need-basis manner
- Participate in physical and technical assessment procedures and provide consulting support to tailor future sports science and technical programmes as per the needs of the athletes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders (technical / sports operations / sports science/ learning centre) to conduct research, analytics, and maintenance of athletes profile / performance data; suggest necessary readjustments in future sports science programs; manage data in accordance with relevant legislation, processes and procedures
- Lead by example on being diligent and observant at all times and ensure safety risk aspects are considered within all sports science programs
- Create a safe and respectable environment for athletes and team members to maximise their holistic development
Who we re looking for:
- Licensed Psychologist with specialized training in Performance and Sports Psychology; work exposure in professional Football / Hockey preferred
- Relevant clinical / field experience in counselling, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention; ability to manage emotional and mental healthcare needs of both adolescents and adult age groups
- Confident communicator with the ability to enhance an athlete s performance through attention control training and mind awareness techniques
- High order listening skills with expertise in using breathing, relaxation and/or cognitive techniques to instil focus and mental intensity that is necessary for athletes to increase their performance levels
- Ability to collaborate successfully as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve performance and wellbeing objectives
- Ability to communicate information in a manner that is easily understood by a range of audiences Demonstrated skills in building and nurturing trust-based working / client relationships Demonstrated ability to adapt and navigate in an environment of ambiguity and fast paced changes
- A creative thinker, receptive to feedback with willing to learn; one who can successfully navigate and resolve interpersonal conflicts
