The ideal candidates should have at least five years of work experience onboard merchant ships, preferably oil tankers, as a Deck Officer/Engineer or similar experience in a relevant field in a managerial position. Preferably as Senior Officers-Master Mariner-Chief Engineer from Oil Tankers.

Mandatory- Marine Sailing experience onboard Oil Tankers. Or Naval architects with previous work experience in shpbuilding or at least five years in Alang Health and Safety.

You will be responsible for monitoring and improving a work culture that makes the workplace safer. You must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards. You should discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential. The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
• Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
• Monitor compliance with policies and regulations by inspecting employees and operations
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
• Train workers as per the training matrix.

Skills

• Proven experience from the Merchant shipping industry Marine industry acquired through sailing on merchant ships as a ship officer (preferably Oil tankers.)
• Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
• Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
• Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
• Excellent organizational and motivational skills
• Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability

Salary- Commensurate with experience.

• Should have knowledge and experience to lead safety independently through motivating and empowering people.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
