We're looking for an Engineering Senior Specialist for our Data Platform. In this role, you'll be part of a team developing the Data Platform that powers the insights, data warehouse, reporting, and optimization engine. The Data Platform team's mission is to empower the customers and business stakeholders to derive audience, contextual, psychographic, targeting, and optimization insights across digital platforms. We do this by collecting and processing events and feeds from multiple sources across our ad tech platform and producing advanced insights and optimization recommendations. Our customers use this platform, as do the engineering teams, data analysts, and business users.
Engineers at VDX.tv develop next-generation products that power our scalable ad tech platform, which enables advertisers across the globe to reach out to their consumers and deliver effective, engaging advertising. We're looking for engineers who are passionate about artificial intelligence, information retrieval, massive data pipelines, UI design, rich media frameworks, data insights, optimization, targeting strategies and solving large-scale system design challenges.
You will work with a small team of engineers to solve software and infrastructure challenges in the big data domain. You'll be expected to play an individual contributor role with high accountability, make a positive impact, and work well both as an individual contributor and a team player. The technical and cross-functional problems in this role require you to develop partnerships with other teams and understand their use cases.
Responsibilities
- Work on complex technical projects with peers in an innovative, fast-paced environment.
- Lead, design, and implement new data pipelines, products, and data models.
- Work on massive event log stream, semi-structured text, time series, and graph datasets.
- Improve, manage, and mentor standards for code maintainability and performance in code reviews.
- Evolve CI/CD strategy for real-time and batch-data pipelines.
- Five to twelve years of hands-on experience in software development
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong foundation in computer science, including core data structures, algorithms, and analysis of running time and memory requirements
- Ability to develop scalable and reliable software for internet scale and real-time data processing
- Ability to develop and test hypotheses
- Ability to A/B test, deploy the algorithmic changes, and improve the outcomes
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Elastic Search, Redis, distributed databases, data streaming, and map reduce paradigms
- Ability to create prototypes and examples to demonstrate concepts
- Experience with developing and delivering production systems using Java, Scala, and/or Python
- We are a remote-first organization. This role is in India, but you can reside anywhere in India.
