Form of work1. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES1. Procurement Planning and Support:a. Study the business plan and production plan for the different Business Unitsb. Prepare procurement plan in accordance with the business and production plan.c. Plan for the procurement of Coal as per specificationsd. Provide pricing support to Sales & Marketing team.e. Provide procurement support to Business Units for urgent material requirements.f. Interact with the BU Heads/Key Account Managers/S&OP Heads/Production Heads to ensure the following: -i. Deliver within their budgets and make them successful in meeting their cost targets.ii. Meet their expectation of product & services quality and of timeliness of delivery.iii. Demonstrate high responsiveness and ensure internal customer satisfaction.2. Vendor Management and Purchase Improvement Strategies and Programsa. Build a supplier (global sourcing) base for procurement of raw materials based on the forward-looking business plan.b. Liaise with global/domestic vendors and float enquiries to ensure price and availability.c. Negotiate with vendors for securing competitive bids.d. Assess performance of vendors periodically.e. Study possibilities of frame contracts and the benefits it will deliver and recommend to Head SCMf. Recommend quantity commitments for RM (to Head Group Sourcing) that Trident should enter into to build partnerships with preferred vendors.3. Manage the Performance of the Procurement area under one’s chargea. Work closely with the finance and accounts team to study procurement data and identify cost reduction measures.b. Study ways and strategies to reduce the total cost of procurement E.g. monitoring slow moving stock and using it for other orders.c. Ensure that performance meets or exceeds the expected SLAs signed with user departments.d. Report on procurement activities and performance to Head Group Sourcinge. Provide guidance to the SCM department in the Businesses.f. Review consumption trends to set reorder levels with the support of the business.g. Review complaints and quality of raw material procurement and raise the same with vendors for speedy addressal.2. KEY RESULT AREAS1. Sourcing Cost as % of Sales2. Reduction in sourcing costs y-o-y3. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEMBA and/or CA and/or Material Management diploma holder with strong techno-commercial acumen, solid understanding of the procurement patterns in coal commodities.8 - 10+ years of work experience, with at least 5 years in the procurement function for a big organization.
