Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of radiographic examinations on patients using various imaging modalities, including X-ray, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and fluoroscopy.
- Ensure the accurate positioning of patients and the appropriate selection of technical factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Supervise and mentor junior radiographers, providing guidance on imaging techniques, patient care, radiation safety, and professional development.
- Coordinate the scheduling of radiography procedures, prioritizing urgent cases and optimizing patient flow to minimize wait times and maximize efficiency.
- Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot technical issues, collaborating with biomedical engineers or service technicians to ensure timely maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain comprehensive records of imaging procedures, patient demographics, radiation doses, and other relevant data, adhering to regulatory requirements and departmental policies.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers to review imaging findings, interpret results, and develop appropriate treatment plans for patients.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including image review, protocol development, and performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality and safety of radiography services.
- Stay abreast of advancements in radiographic technology, equipment, and imaging techniques, attending training sessions, conferences, and professional development programs as needed.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning within the radiography department, promoting open communication and collaboration among staff members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in radiography, radiologic technology, or a related field; advanced certification or specialization in a specific imaging modality (e.g., CT, MRI) is highly desirable.
- Certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist by a recognized accrediting body or regulatory agency.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of clinical experience as a radiographer, with demonstrated proficiency in performing a wide range of radiographic procedures and interpreting diagnostic images.
- Leadership experience or demonstrated supervisory skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts.
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology relevant to diagnostic imaging, with the ability to apply this knowledge to optimize imaging protocols and techniques.
