Job description

If you want to make your mark in a professional and fast paced NGO, this is the role for you. You will be supporting a new capacity building programme for cities in Asia to strengthen their climate resiliency. This will also involve encouraging general climate and environmental disclosure for local and subnational governments. You will have experience in climate change or the environmental sector, external stakeholder engagement, and workshop/event organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Co-delivering a capacity building programme on city climate finance including supporting cities on project preparation process, strengthening of their project pipeline so that they could be linked to potential technical assistance, including the organisation of workshops (Online and offline) and events.
  • Growing CDP’s Cities, States and Regions work in Asia through new opportunities and collaborations.
  • Direct engagement with local and subnational governments in Asia with a focus on India on climate change and environmental disclosure.
  • Collaborating and communicating with the disclosure functional team to prepare for and implement disclosure-related activities in Asia.
  • Data analysis and support to regionally specific presentations and reports.
  • Attending relevant events and meetings with key stakeholders in India and the wider region.
  • Development of knowledge/educational resources as part of the project deliverables.


Required skills and experience:

  • At least 5+ years professional experience in climate change, environment, sustainability or local/regional government roles.
  • Experience in the design and organization of workshops, webinars and events.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and preferably one other Asian language (e.g. Hindi).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and deliver projects on time.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a range of teams and external stakeholders and liaising across different time zones and cultures.
  • Knowledge and interest in urban climate change adaptation and mitigation issues.
  • Competency in computer skills and proven ability to learn and become proficient in new IT systems quickly.


Desired skills and experience:

  • A working understanding of climate adaptation/resilience planning and implementation and city climate finance.

This is a full-time fixed contract role based in CDP’s New Delhi office reporting to Head of Disclosure, APAC based in Singapore.

Salary and Benefits:INR 800000-INR 10,00,000 per annum,22 holidays (annually) plus bank holidays, Medical Insurance, Provident Fund & flexible working opportunities.
