Address Cloud Hardware Analytics & Tools (CHAT) Team develops analytical solutions for improving the quality of Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Hardware. We explore telemetry collected from Azure Infrastructure and HW & SW components, analyze HW programs and products, and provide data science, business intelligence, data engineering and software development services to internal cloud engineering and operations customers.
CHAT BI team is looking for an expert-level Power BI Engineer with advanced database querying skills, strong experience working with modern Microsoft Data Platform in Microsoft Azure environment, as well as with Azure DevOps/DataOps experience at enterprise level.
This position is a combination of BI Engineering and Data Analyst roles in Cloud Hardware/Software and related Program/Project Management domains. A BI Engineer comprehends requests for the analytics, explores available data, and develops and maintains semantic data models and Power BI reports and solutions using that data. BI Engineers also contribute to BI Infrastructure and team processes improvements.
This role closely collaborates with other BI and Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Program Managers, and HW/SW Engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain BI solutions based on Microsoft Power BI, Power Platform (Power Apps and Automate), Logic Apps and Microsoft Data Stack
- Run data exploration and analysis projects
- Own a few large-scale analytical systems end-to-end for supporting key business scenarios. Examples include hardware availability analysis system, hardware repair analytics, firmware freshness and deployment analytics, program & product analytics and so on.
- Proactively learn data analysis best practices, methods, technologies, and processes. Contribute to BI Infrastructure and Process improvements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Power BI development, including advanced DAX skills and advanced dimensional data modeling, data visualizations. Ability to develop custom visualizations in PowerBI is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience with large-scale data manipulation and exploration. Fast and fluent with one of the database query languages (SQL, Azure Data Explorer/Kusto).
- 5+ years of experience working in enterprise software development environments and processes (source control, CI/CD, Agile/SCRUM).
- 3+ years of experience using one of the popular programming and scripting languages (C#, Python, PowerShell) for automating routine tasks and processes.
- Passion and curiosity to learn world class data analysis techniques and tools
- Great communication and presentation skills.
