Job Description
Are you interested in building world class B2B solution serving 6 markets, 50+ countries fueling growth? Visa is seeking a Staff Software Engineer as a full stack Java/J2EE developer for New Payment Flows Product Development team.
Commercial and Money Movement Solutions team is a world-class technology organization under experiencing tremendous, double-digit growth as we expand products into new payment flows and continue to grow our core card solutions. Our team brings payment solutions and associated services to clients around the globe. Our global clients and partners deploy our solutions to serve the needs of Small Businesses, Middle Market Clients, Large Corporate Clients, Multi Nationals and Governments. This is an incredibly exciting team to join as we expand globally.
Primary responsibilities for this role will include:
- Bring in the best architecture and build highly available and scalable applications.
- Lead the team to create a positive impact to the product, process and people involved.
- Hands on technical leader who can mentor, guide, motivate and bring the team together for a purpose.
- Work with the stake holders and bring in synergy.
- Be a thought leader, able to grasp the things in big picture view and apply leadership thought process to make this a reality.
- You’ll leverage on new technologies to build the next generation products.
- You’ll help our customers achieve their real goals by understanding requirements and how they respond to their business needs.
- Identify opportunities for future enhancements and refinements to standards, best practices, and development methodologies.
- Contribute to development of product innovation.
- Build working relationships with global and virtual teams on software development.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• BS or MS in computer science or related field.
• 12+ years of Software Development Experience or a Master’s with 9+ years of Software Development Experience in designing, development and supporting large scale applications.
• More than 3 years of leadership experience with direct people management.
• In-depth understanding of agile principles. Demonstrate expertise in running Agile teams in an enterprise setting of 10+ member
• Lead multiple scrum team members made up of both full-time employees and contractors
• Deliver the product despite complex technical interdependencies with cross geographical teams
• Provide technical leadership to product development team by participating in design, performing design reviews, code reviews and Quality engineering.
• Build a culture of engineering excellence (quality, security, performance, scalability, availability, resilience etc.)
• Partner with remote teams to ensure alignment across product development
• Drive down technical debt and cost of operations/support
• Manage the prioritization and delivery of enhancements and bugfixes on platform
• Ensure the process for incident management, change management, problem management and quality management are followed
• Hire, retain, grow and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers (Dev and QE)
• Invest in the career development of direct reports
