Description:
The global Senior Finance Manager is responsible for partnering with the Software Engineering leadership team, providing controllership oversite and support on budgeting, forecasting, business case preparation, business advice, and rolling out a global software productivity model. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information, developing financials models, and providing insights to the business.
The role will be based in India, in either Bangalore or Pune. Candidates in Pune will need to be able to travel to Bangalore frequently.

- Cost Control and Optimization: Implement effective cost control measures, monitor spending against budgets, and identify areas for costs reduction and efficient improvement. Collaborate with software engineering teams to develop strategies for cost optimization while maintaining quality and innovation.
- Software Productivity Model: Support the implementation of the software productivity model within the engineering software organization. Analyze productivity data, identify trends, and provide insights for process optimization and resource allocation.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the software engineering department's budget, including capital expenditures, project budgets, and operational expenses. Conduct accurate forecasting and variance analysis to ensure financial targets are met.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze software engineering project costs, profitability, and return on investment. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize resource allocation, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support decision-making processes.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports to software engineering and executive management. Provide clear and concise analysis of financial performance, including project financials, costs trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive key improvement actions. Create visually compelling dashboards, reports, and presentations to effectively communicate engineering insights and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Ensure the information is presented in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
- Investment Evaluation: Evaluate the financial viability of software engineering investments, including new technology, equipment, and software. Perform financial modeling, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and provide recommendations on investment decisions. Support new investment proposals (PAR) for current / forward model and pursuits.
- Pricing and Quoting Support: Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to develop accurate and competitive pricing strategies for new projects. Provide financial guidance on cost estimation, profitability analysis, and pricing negotiations.
- Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and industry regulations. Support internal and external audits, provide accurate and timely financial information, and implement necessary financial controls and policies.
- Tools and Systems: Actively seek out and leverage the latest tools, technologies, and systems within the Engineering Finance organization to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness. Continuously looking for opportunities to improve processes through technology, process, and / or artificial intelligence.
- Internal Controls: Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and external regulations and standards
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of experience preferably in financial analysis and planning, with at least 3 years of experience supporting engineering or technology organizations
- Prior engineering experience preferred but not required
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
- Experience with financial systems, preferably SAP, QAD, enterproj, and OneStream
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide valuable insights to the business
