Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Social Studies Teacher with an experience in teaching CBSE or ICSE curriculum to join our school. The candidate should have a strong background in social studies education, with a focus on engaging and inspiring students in the subject. This role involves teaching and mentoring students within a residential school setting, fostering academic growth, and supporting their holistic development.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Develop and deliver creative and engaging lesson plans, focusing primarily on social studies subjects such as history, geography, civics, and economics - that meet curriculum standards and cater to the diverse needs of residential school students.
· Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, group activities, projects, and technology integration, to keep students actively involved in learning.
· Effectively assess student progress through tests, quizzes, presentations, and projects, providing constructive feedback to improve their understanding.
· Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, tolerance, and collaboration.
· Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians and relevant stakeholders regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
· Contribute to the residential school community by participating in dormitory life activities and after school prep classes (as assigned).
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education or a related field (History, Geography, Political Science, etc..)
· Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a school, preferably in a residential school environment.
· Teaching certification required (e.g., B.Ed or equivalent).
· Strong knowledge of Social Studies curriculum and effective teaching methodologies.
· Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
· Patience, empathy, and a commitment to the well-being of students in a residential school environment.
