Cedar Retail is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Strategic business unit head for its Food & FMCG division. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and overall management of our Food & FMCG businesses, including retail stores, wholesale & distribution – commodities & FMCG, our food brands including Crosso and Suvidi, and a chain of eateries that we are developing.
Package : CTC 24 Lakhs per annum
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all businesses within the Food & FMCG Vertical, ensuring alignment with Cedar Retail’s overall goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive business plans and strategies to drive growth, profitability, and market share across all verticals.
- Oversee the operations of retail stores, wholesale distribution channels, and food brand units, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute key initiatives and projects, fostering collaboration and synergy among different business units.
- Drive innovation and product development efforts to enhance our food brands’ offerings and meet evolving customer needs and preferences.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify opportunities for expansion and differentiation.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, and retail partners.
- Manage budget and financial performance for the Food & FMCG SBU, ensuring cost-effective operations and maximizing profitability.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to vertical heads and team members, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards across all businesses within the vertical.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the Food/FMCG industry, with a proven track record of success in senior management roles.
- Expertise in retail operations, wholesale distribution, and food brand management, preferably with experience in ready-to-eat food products.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, evaluate performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking, with a passion for driving innovation and growth in a dynamic business environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
