Job Summary

Based in India, the Senior Engineer - Quality will play the lead role in understanding client requirements, define quality requirements, conduct inspection, implementation of Emerson quality requirements and resolving quality issues on assigned projects. 


In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Review supplier procedures (Welding, NDE, Coating, Heat treatment), Inspection & test plan, Test reports, Manufacturing record book and acquire domestic or international client approval for the same.
  • Inspect raw material, piping bulk components (pipe, fittings, flanges, valves etc.), fabricated components like piping, structures and pressure vessel etc. for all projects.
  • Perform inspection/QC activities at Supplier’s or Emerson manufacturing plants including witness of material identification & testing, welding/fabrication, NDE, Dimension test, Hydro test, FAT etc. as per relevant international codes, standards, project specifications etc.
  • Coordinate with customer, 3rd party inspection agency for supplier inspection process.
  • Provide quality relevant recommendations to quality manager on QA/QC matters highlighted by Client and to sales & tendering process.
  • Perform inward, in-process and final inspection, issue inspection report and release note. Identify and highlight potential improvement opportunities.
  • Follow quality procedures, formats, templates related to inspection like inspection checklist, reports, release note etc.
  • Ensure that product non-conformance issues, are accurately investigated, corrective actions are proposed /implemented until closure.
  • Supply to implementation, documentation, and execution of the quality management system including Quality Assurance/Control system across company and supplier.
  • Assist in company ISO activities like quality management certification/surveillance audits, awareness programs, process improvement, etc.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, chemical, petrochemical, valve industry. 
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas industry equipment, instruments, piping and structural work.
  • NDT level II – Ultrasonic testing, Radiography testing, Penetrant testing.
  • Welding inspector certification like CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI or equivalent is required. IWE/IWT is considered.
  • Well-versed in national and international codes/standards related to material, NDE, welding, coating etc.
  • Demonstrate personal dedication to safety and quality culture.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PDF, etc.
  • Leadership and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate and relate with peers, clients, vendors and sub-vendors. 
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Degree / Diploma or equivalent experience in mechanical, production engineering or related subject area. 
  • EPC/3rd party Inspection agency experience will be an added advantage.
  • As an advantage, BGAS/NACE coating certified inspector or ISO 9001:2015 auditor is not required but will be considered.
