Role Title: Process Planning Engineer - Battery Location of Job: Hosur Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering - BE / BE (Mechatronics) Experience: 9-13 Years/5-7 years Joining: Immediate joining Job Description: You need to have customer obsession and attention to detail. Understand the business requirements, customer journeys and translate into detailed product requirements. Design, evaluate and finalize manufacturing strategy, considering all 7M conditions. Estimate capital investments & conversion cost for new products/upgrades/capacity augmentation. Estimate total cost of buying (TCB), propose, evaluate and finalize "Make or Buy" strategy. Design and develop process for new products and upgrades, with application of APQP (3rd Edition). Conduct process FMEA and develop a defect-free process with expertise on VDA 6.3 and IATF 4th edition. Design, evaluate and finalize layouts for plant and manufacturing lines with application of manufacturing principles (JIT, LEAN, AGILE). Plan and finalize plant & facility requirements. Facility planning, evaluation, sourcing and development, qualifications, I&C, proving and productionisation. Prove-out process & facilities meeting quality targets and sustainable process capability index. Technical documentation of the designed process with PPAP (IATF 4th edition) and on-time customer approval (PSW sign-off). Moniter Alpha, Beta and QP manufacturing and achievement of results as per set MPT targets Prepare action plans for process improvement projects/Identify alternate processes to improve P, Q,C,D & S in existing manufacturing cells/New product Skill to set manufacturing process targets with project target and identify projects to improve the process. Study the drawings and provide DFB/DFM feedback to design team to improve the manufacturing quality. Technical documentation of the designed process with PPAP (IATF 4th edition) and on-time customer approval (PSW sign-off). Experience & Qualifications 5+ years of overall experience, bachelor’s degree in engineering or bachelor’s in mechatronics from a premium institute or equivalent. At least 5 years of experience in Process Planning role or equivalent role preferably working in automobile manufacturing companies specialized in battery manufacturing processes and technology with a track record of delivering projects on-time. Experience in working in implementing battery manufacturing strategy. Ability to prioritize effectively and work with product deadlines. Working experience with technical documentation such as PPAP, PSW, PFMEA Experience with manufacturing principles such as JIT, Lean, Agile Working understanding of total cost of buying and comparing different manufacturing strategies, ability to design processes and analyse diagrams and provide design feedback Educational qualifications preferred: Category: Bachelor’s degree (minimum), master’s degree Field specialization: Manufacturing strategy, General Management, Manufacturing principles, Technical Documentation, Process development, Mechanical or mechatronics engineering concepts Degree: B.E/B.
