Description

Roles and responsibilities
1. Must have in-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL database architecture, installation, database schema and user management, PL/ SQL programming, resource contention analysis, database security and backup/recovery.
2. Must have strong knowledge of Linux.
3. Must have hands on experience with implementing High availability, Automatic failover, Parallel backups and Connection Pooling using Open Source tools.
4. Must be able to perform architectural health checks and analyze the logs to optimize the time consuming SQLs.
5. Must be able to perform PostgreSQL Upgrades from legacy to latest versions with least possible downtime.
6. Participate in the creation of development, staging, and production database instances, and the migration from one environment to another.
7. Responsible for developer SQL code review to ensure queries are optimized, secure and tuned to perform efficiently prior to production release.
8. Provide inputs on tuning OS parameters as applicable to the DB server.
9. Responsible for the monitoring and uptime of all production databases.
