Qualifications: B. Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering
Experience: 15-20 years in Wire and cable industry
Age: 40 to 52 Years
Salary: 30 LPA - 40 LPA
Industry Preference: Cable Manufacturing Industry
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design team that:
- Carries out technical studies of various cables as per IS.
- Analyses customer technical documentation and proposes a design for the system.
- Performs calculations for electrical and thermal performance of the cable system.
- Designs every aspect including Cable construction, packaging, shipment, testing, and costing.
- Supports the Commercial team/Design Team to answer any technical questions and verifies technical feasibility and compliance with specifications.
- Participates in meetings with clients when needed.
- Performs technical risk analysis for the project.
- Optimizes the technical offer to improve technical performance and reduce costs.
- Writes calculation notes and modifies them until they are fully approved by the customer.
- Supports QA in responding to customer complaints and takes corrective action.
- Develops and validates specific calculation procedures with inputs from IS specifications.
- Discusses and interfaces for technical requirements of customers with Production, Testing, Quality Control, and Purchase departments.
- Develops design metrics:
- For new product development, prepares the design & development plan with responsibilities & activities schedules.
- Specifies the characteristics of the product essential for safe & proper use.
- Takes feedback from the Plant and analyzes Actual vs. Design parameters.
- Assists marketing with market research and benchmarking on competition, products, and competing technologies.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in the Wire and cable industry.
- Knowledge and application of Standards and various specifications.
- Ability to lead creative and analytical product improvements.
- Technical risk analysis skills.
- Knowledge/experience of customer technical design for systems including schematic diagrams, grounding system design.
- Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM), DFMEA, and other cable design tools.
- Familiarity with various system certifications.
- Energy Cables product and Power system knowledge is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good presentation and facilitation abilities.
- Information on various industry committees like IEEMA, BIS, NABL - Cable specifications, etc.
- Understanding of various ISO certifications (QMS, EnMS, EMS, OHSAS, etc.).
- Experience in deployment and monitoring of Key Indicators.
- Ability to formalize and transmit knowledge and skills.
- Commitment to Customer Satisfaction.
- Strong leadership and management capabilities.
