The duties of a female Physical Education Teacher are primarily focused on promoting physical fitness, health, and overall well-being among female students. Here are some common responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Planning:
- Develop and implement a well-structured Physical Education curriculum that aligns with educational standards and goals
- Yoga, Zumba, Pilates (preference if you are certified in any of these)
- Plan appropriate activities that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students (Warm Up, Stretching, Functional Workouts, Meditations, Cool Downs)
2. Instruction and Demonstration:
- Teach and organise various physical activities, sports (basketball, throwball, volley ball, table tennis), athletics and exercises.
- Demonstrate proper techniques, form, and safety measures
3. Fitness Assessment:
- Conduct fitness assessments to evaluate students' physical abilities and track their progress over time.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement based on assessment results.
4. Health Education:
- Educate students about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including proper nutrition, hydration, and overall wellness.
5. Inclusion and Adaptation:
- Ensure inclusivity by adapting activities to accommodate students with different abilities, learning styles, and cultural backgrounds.
6. Safety:
- Emphasize and enforce safety protocols during physical activities to prevent injuries.
- Supervise and monitor students to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
7. Behavior Management:
- Establish and maintain classroom rules and expectations for behavior during Physical Education classes.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies when necessary.
8. Communication:
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues about class activities, student progress, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with other teachers and college staff to promote a holistic approach to education.
9. Professional Development:
- Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in Physical Education.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
10. Extracurricular Activities:
- Organize extracurricular sports and physical activities such as intramural leagues, sports clubs, cultural events or fitness programs.
11. Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of students' performance, and any relevant health information.
- Find out the best equipment suppliers and update indoor and outdoor gym
12. Advocacy:
- Advocate for the importance of diet, Physical Education within the college community and promote the benefits of an active lifestyle.
