Position Start Date: July 2023
Position Description: High Brass Percussion instruments specialist with Band conducting skills to teach individual and ensemble classes at Middle and High School levels within an American curricular framework that is fully integrated with IB Middle Years and Diploma Programs.
Preferred Academic Qualifications
- B.A.; Bachelors in Music Education (or equivalent)
- ABRSM Grade 8
Professional Experience
Play and teach the common percussion instruments
Preference to applicants with ability to also teach high brass
Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of students instruments and percussion
Teaching experience (or equivalent) in a multi-cultural or international context is desirable
At least three years of teaching experience preferably in a multi-cultural or international context with students of different age groups desirable

Responsibilities
- Support KIS guiding principles
- Plan, structure, and execute rehearsals and lessons that are engaging and are aligned with a year-long scope and sequence
- Teach individual and ensemble lessons as applicable and scheduled into a Monday-Friday school week
- Implement the school‐wide student management policies within classrooms and everywhere with our school
- Compile, analyze, and use data on student progress and achievement to target and differentiate instruction
- Take part and collaborate within a department of other music teachers
- Celebrate student work on a regular basis, using bulletin boards as well as other methods
- Share lesson materials and participate in observation/feedback sessions with team leaders, department heads, instructional staff, vice principal and principal
