For Unilever to remain competitive in the future, the business needs to continue the path to become data intelligent. The Data & Insights team will persevere to make Unilever Data Intelligent; powering key decisions with data, insights, advanced analytics and AI.

This Data & Analytics function endeavours to create clear accountability for all aspects of Data Strategy, Data Management, Information Management, Analytics, and Insights. We would be accountable for impact of solutions, maintaining market relevance and minimising unnecessary overlaps in analytics products, ensuring simplicity and that our solutions better meet the needs of our users.


We would partner with the Digital and Data Legal Counsel to ensure that our Data Defence (Privacy, Governance, Quality, etc) is well structured and sufficiently robust to use data and AI correctly throughout the enterprise. We would democratize information across the business, while supporting the culture shift required for data driven decision making. Further, this team would drive capacity unlock from manual and duplicative reporting capabilities, while also refocusing a portion of the unlock on embedding predictive and prescriptive analytics capabilities into our highest potential opportunities.

Main Purpose of the Job:


Customer Strategy and Planners (CSPs) are the key decision makers to drive category and customer growth. Hence, guiding the operations through Data Driven decisions is non-negotiable. This role focuses on the development, deployment and activation of Analytics Products supporting the Pricing space. Product manager works with Engagement Leads and end users to understand the business requirements, perform fit-gap analysis and agree functional scope and implementation plans for the Product. They lead the demand capture and translate it into functional specification for the analytics product.


Key accountabilities:


Establish compelling product design which is at par with some of our competitors’ offerings while being fit for purpose for Unilever nuances Lead the development of design thinking; cost estimates; and benefits identification to feed into the business case for the new products Roadmap prioritization, approval & delivery working with business & CSP champions Lead the squad – guiding them and taking accountability for their performance in the eyes of the business Oversee product functional/ non-functional design and ensure Capability Teams’ members of the squad develop solutions which meet the business requirements Develop; own; and manage all project budgets & timelines Bring the data strategy to life by working with the Data Centre of Excellence & Solution Factories to ensure project deliverables are appropriately costed & scheduled in-line with project expectations Work with the UniOps In-Market teams to test solutions & functionality as well as embed the solutions with key users through effective Change Management. Assist the business in change impact assessments and liaise with the UniOps In-Market teams & Change leads on the ground to support the delivery of change management Lead business value measurement exercise working closely with UniOps In-Market teams as well as business stakeholders. Own products developed in BAU and work with the UniOps In-Market teams and Solution factory to ensure DevOps requests are appropriately managed, budgeted and delivered


Experience and qualifications required:


  • M.B.A. or Post graduation in a relevant field (Business Analytics, Operations Research)


  • Overall experience of 6-8 years preferred with deep knowledge on digital analytics


  • Strong track record of working with senior business leadership (VPs+) to drive definition, alignment, and support for application of analytics and Data to address complex business issues


  • Demonstrated track record of establishing & landing analytics charters


  • Strong understanding of various Master Data and Retail CPG data with relevant Multi-Hierarchy / attributes 


  • Proven experience in designing & landing digital analytics capabilities


  • Ability to drive multiple internal and external stakeholder connects while holding relevant teams accountable for commitments.


  • Product design thinking experience to be able to translate the business requirements into a D&A product which leverages from Data & Technology to help deliver the business strategy


  • Exposure to creating & landing business change management


  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative insights in a precise and actionable manner  


  • Deep understanding of data landscape & data management principles Project mgmt. skills and ability to synchronize the planning & delivery of the D&A product with the delivery of the business strategy


  • Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously in a highly VUCA and competitive market Agile mindset and ability to plan the D&A product roadmap via consecutive Releases which align with key business needs.
