Our client is seeking a Non-Motorized Transport (NMT) and Vertical Transportation Expert.
Scope of Work:
The Non-Motorized Transport (NMT) and Vertical Transportation Expert will liaise/support/assist/facilitate the PMU in all technical aspects of Non Motorized Transport (NMT) and Vertical Transportation planning and review of PPDMC outputs/deliverables.
This is an intermittent contract with 132 work days spanning from 1 February 2024 until 31 March 2025.
This job closes on 31st January 2024.
Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output:
Under the supervision of the Project Director and in consultation with the assigned project officer the consultant will assist and facilitate the PMU on technical aspects of the (NMT) and Vertical Transportation, including, but not limited to:
- Familiarize him/herself with the current transport system in Aizawl City and CMP
- Advise the UDPAD, PMU, and client on NMT and Vertical Transportation aspects of the project keeping the overall Urban Mobility in mind,
- Participate in meetings with all PRF Consultant Firms and provide advice and comments.
- Review, evaluate, and comment on all PRF Consultant Firm deliverables concerning NMT and Vertical Transportation aspects.
- Suggest improvement in the design proposals of UDPA proposals and advise the government while reviewing the feasibility and project reports of non-motorized and Vertical mobility projects.
- Review and advise the government and the consultant on the institutional arrangement for the implementation of vertical mobility and non-motorized transport projects and proposals.
- Ensure compliance with all client, GOM, and GOI requirements, as applicable
- Perform any other tasks as desired by PMU and/or client.
Job Requirements
Relevant Experience and Requirements are as under:
- Master's degree or equivalent or above in Urban Planning/Civil Engineering/Transport Engineering/Transport Planning or relevant fields
- Preferably 15 years of experience, including 5 years of overseas experience, in non-motorized transport, Vertical Transportation, urban mobility plans, and NMT studies.
- Experience on projects funded by client and other multilateral funding agencies is preferable
- Experience in projects in hilly/mountainous terrain is preferred.
- Experience in Vertical Transportation projects is essential.
- Good reporting and communication skills, as well as working skills in computer
- Good command of spoken and written English is essential
