Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Museum Studies, Art History, History, or related field. PhD is preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Museum Curatorial and management roles, with a demonstrated track record of success
- In-depth knowledge of museum best practices, standards, and ethics
- Proficiency in collections management software and digital technologies
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, donors, and community members
Curatorial Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curatorial vision and strategy in alignment with the museum's mission and goals.
- Curate and manage the museum's collections, exhibitions, and educational programs, ensuring diversity, relevance, and accessibility.
- Oversee the acquisition, documentation, preservation, and conservation of museum collections, adhering to professional standards and ethical guidelines
- Conduct research and scholarship related to the museum's collections, contributing to knowledge dissemination and academic discourse.
- Conceptualize, plan, and execute engaging and innovative exhibitions that appeal to diverse audiences and enhance visitor experience.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including artists, scholars, and community organizations, to develop exhibition content and programming
- Develop and implement educational initiatives, including guided tours, workshops, lectures, and outreach programs, to promote learning and engagement.
- Foster partnerships with schools, universities, and educational institutions to enhance the museum's educational offerings and impact
- Visitor Services and Experience:
- Ensure high-quality visitor services, including ticketing, information, and facilities management, to create a welcoming and accessible museum environment.
- Monitor visitor feedback and trends to continually improve the visitor experience and satisfaction.
- Develop and manage the museum's annual budget, allocating resources effectively to support museum operations, exhibitions, and programs.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, grants, and sponsorships to sustain and expand museum initiatives
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate museum staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and professional growth.
