Job Description

As part of our client engineering team, we are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to play a pivotal role in optimizing our cloud infrastructure and ensuring seamless deployment processes. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing the reliability, availability, and scalability of the client cloud-based systems. Working closely with the client engineering team, you will leverage your expertise in AWS and deployment automation to streamline operational processes and drive migration and scaling projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps methodologies, along with hands-on experience with a variety of tools and technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, and Jenkins.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the client engineering team to design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS, including scaling to regional AWS clouds.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to automate provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Implement deployment automation pipelines to enable continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Configure and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Implement and maintain service discovery and configuration management solutions with tools like Consul and Vault.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Concourse.
  • Set up and configure monitoring and alerting solutions using tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, or similar technologies.
  • ​​​​​​​Analyze system performance and reliability, identifying root causes of issues and implementing solutions to ensure system stability.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role. 
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including AWS Application Discovery Service, cost optimization strategies, and scaling to regional AWS clouds.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience with tools like Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible and service discovery tools like Consul.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Concourse, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and alerting solutions using tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, or similar technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Ability to analyze large-scale complex systems from a reliability and availability perspective.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of instability in distributed systems.

Nice to have:


  • Experience with Prometheus for monitoring and alerting.
  • Familiarity with artifact repository management tools like Nexus.
  • Certification in AWS or relevant technologies is a plus.
