Position Summary:

The Medical Editor will be joining a team of web and email developers, medical writers, graphic designers, and project managers to develop digital promotional materials for our clients. The Medical Editor is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our healthcare advertisements per our product requirements and best practices, and per our clients’ direction. The ability to be detail-oriented in a fast-paced production environment is essential for success in this role. The Medical Editor will also need to be versed in US FDA regulations on promotional pharmaceutical communications and AMA style. 

Position Requirements:

  • 3 to 4 years of editorial experience in a medical communications agency, pharmaceutical company, or pharmaceutical advertising agency, preferably Web-based 
  • Knowledge of AMA style and scientific/medical terminology
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Electronic editing (Adobe Acrobat & MS Word) skills are preferred

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and direct client edits, copyedit, and proofread various Web-based promotional materials (banners, rich media, e-mails, web pages, learning modules, etc) targeting physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accuracy and consistency of style, copy, graphics, and audio/video best practices

  • Ensure content aligns to product and client-specific requirements, and escalate job as required for deviations. 

  • Strict attention to detail (checking for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to pharma brand style/editorial guidelines)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines

  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure accurate and on-schedule projects

  • Working independently and prioritizing workload
