Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities : MEDICAL OFFICER (MBBS Only)

1. The resident will take a sanitary round with the ward staff before he/she starts his professional work and ensures cleanliness of the ward.
2. He/she will cooperate with the ward staff to maintain discipline.
3. The resident will be directly responsible for supervision of patient care in his/her unit with the assistance of in-house doctors.
4. He/she will be contacted by the in-house doctors on duty in case of emergency.
5. If necessary, he/she should consult the physician / surgeon in-charge of the unit.
6. He/she will go through all the case notes written by the in-house doctors and will make corrections where necessary.
7. The Medical Officer on duty will take Clinical rounds of each patient admitted on the floor / unit in each shift.
8. On admission day he/she will attend to cases referred for medical opinion from other wards. If necessary, he/she may consult the physician/surgeon in charge for further advice.
9. In cases of death, it will be his/her responsibility to verify that case documentation is complete and write a brief summary of the case before it is sent to the Medical Records Section.
10. He/she will maintain a book/register to indicate the patients in his charge who require care/follow-up during the routine night rounds and will apprise the duty house staff of such cases.
11. He/she will maintain a register to indicate that the relatives of seriously ill patients are informed. This is also applicable to cases of patients absconding from the: ward and also in the case of death/emergency.
12. Shall perform such duties as are allotted to them.
13. He/She will follow NABH standards.
14. He/She to religiously be on rounds in all patient rooms to see their well being and coordinate with the rest of the workforce incase of any need.
15. Vitals check at any given time shall be the responsibility of the Medical Officer.
16. Any other work assigned from time to time by the Management.

Desired Candidate Profile : MBBS with GMC Registration Certificate. Fresher or Experienced doctors can also apply for the position.
