Job Responsibilities
Technical
- Requirements gathering and drive complete ownership of projects (conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation, and test/validation) including technical decision making.
- May design parts using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings/plating’s. Work with potential suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured in accordance with performance and cost objectives.
- Performs analytical work in order to characterize and properly specify new and existing designs, including heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid/gas dynamics and manufacturability.
- Ability to employ FMEA rigorously for risk mitigation. Conduct Design reviews to get buy-in from all cross functional teams.
- Develop and execute test plans that generate characterization data sufficient to understand and validate the performance of the design.
- Ensures documentation is consistent with SEMI, Lam Standards, and other standards as applicable (ANSI, DIN etc.), as well as best known methods for GD&T; accordingly, demonstrates knowledge and ability to properly utilize them.
- Develops and present reports/presentations of excellent quality that communicate design intent, analysis, and validation at design reviews.
- Collaborates with other departments for procurement and assembly of mechanical components/ equipment.
- Provide immediate response and timely resolution to design related production issues encountered during the build process
Other Job Responsibilities
- Proficiency in Mechanical design from first principles (i.e. Hydraulics, Thermal and structural hand calculations (Conduction, Convection, Heat dissipation,Flow etc).
- Knowledge of high temp application materials and material properties, Coating etc. (Ex- ceramic, Aluminum alloy).
- System or sub-system knowledge comprising sensors, controls, electrical components etc.
- Critical thinker with proven ability to create solutions for complex engineering problems with an ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance.
- Ability to perform simple and medium complex stress analysis, Thermal analysis using software like NASTRAN/other simulation software
- Knowledge and exposure to ANSI, ASME, SAE, ISO standards applicable to semiconductor industry or equivalent standard.
Minimum Qualifications
- Mechanical Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of industry experience; or
- Mechanical Bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ experience; or
- Technical college with 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus
- CAD (NX and Inventor)
