Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Material Requirements Planning Analyst. This position will be fully engaged with the GSC team and other functions to develop, implement, and operate an integrated Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system within the Division.

This position will be located in Dulles, VA. Some hybrid teleworking options may be available.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide guidance and training on application of MRP system to GSC and other functions
  • Develop and update training on usage of the system and recommend updated procedures as necessary
  • Suggest and implement measurements and metrics to track performance of the system.
  • Extract and analyze data for decision making using existing reporting tools such as Cognos, or other methods.
  • Make recommendation for and work with developers on new reports to support MRP implementation and maintenance
  • Suggest tools and applications to provide insight, analysis, and increase efficiency of the System such as utilization of common stock and strategic generation of Purchase Requisitions
  • Troubleshoot system issues, questions and provide feedback on system enhancements
  • Collaborate with Engineering on Product Data Management (PDM) system to ensure proper data transmitted to ERP system.
  • Investigate new software modules with little guidance, document new processes for improved operational efficiency.
  • Able to understand system problems and articulate the issue with necessary organizations to drive resolution, including internal organizations as well as external organization such as the software provider.
  • Execute centralized planning functions themselves using MRP such as manage material ordering of common stock, material master updates for planning, engineering change notice incorporation (ECN), etc.
  • Communicate relevant information both up and down the functional organization
  • Develop collaborative relationships with functional stakeholders to achieve scheduling culture change
  • Work on special projects, as necessary
  • If not ASCM CPIM certified, be willing to pursue certification path.

This role may be filled at as a Level 3 or Level 4 based on the qualifications outlined below.

Basic Qualifications (Level 3):

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution with 6 years minimum of related experience in Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Production Management - OR - a Master's degree with 4 years of related experience in Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Production Management. May consider 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 1-3+ years' experience leading projects

Basic Qualifications (Level 4):

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution with 10 years minimum of related experience in Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Production Management - OR - a Master's degree with 8 years of related experience in Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Production Management. May consider 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with ERP Implementations
  • 3+ years' experience leading projects
  • Experience with Supply Chain functions throughout program lifecycle: Proposal, Forecasting, Planning, Purchasing, Inventory and Production Control.

Basic Qualifications (Both Levels):

  • Experience with operation of ERP and MRP systems in aerospace manufacturing and supply chain
  • Intermediate MS Excel, data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to successfully engage across all levels in the organization
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Requirements (Both Levels):

  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in Costpoint
  • ASCM Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Familiarity with Cognos including Studio Query, or experience with similar systems such as MS Access in developing basic queries.
  • Advanced MS Excel and data analysis skills
  • Experience leading Lean/Six-Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC, or continuous improvement projects and teams

Salary Range: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00Salary Range 2: $109,900.00 - $164,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
