The Opportunity:
The Data Quality Manager primarily supports the Protectpillar of the strategy.
Key priorities include:
- The role holder needs to demonstrate strong sense of ownership and accountability on projects through strong project management skills and regular communication with internal project managers and business stakeholders
- Working as an individual contributor, provide good recommendation / insights and enhance quality of output through tying the analysis back to Business trends, product knowledge and market dynamics
- Expertise in technical skills (Alteryx,Python ,SAS ,SQL. Exposure / Experience to data visualization tools like QlikSense, Tableau and Data technologies)
- Exposure to AI/ML & automation is preferred.
- Exposure to document and content management utilities like Rational Team Concert, Confluence etc.
- Drives the optimization initiatives for existing processes.
- Understand personal training needs and take initiative to follow through personal development plan in conjunction with line manager
What you'll do:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
Customer/Stakeholder
- Manage the HSBC Data Utility's(HDU) stakeholders and promote Data Quality services.
- Build strong working relationships with the data SMEs in GB/GFs .
- Build strong working relationships with Group Data Services
- Within the HDU closely work with Data Quality Issues Remediation, Data Governance, Data Architecture (Business) and the Policy & Compliance teams.
Service Delivery
- Ability to convert business needs into technical/functional requirements and analysis/ MI Reports
- Provide flawless execution by the team through effective project management and incorporating necessary quality checks that has been signed off by senior /manager
- Demonstrate acceptable standards of productivity.
- Contribute towards the quantifiable process improvement goals of the team
Process Efficiency and Controls
- Maintain a continued focus on continuous improvement across areas of responsibility
- Key responsibilities include some of but not limited to:
- Support ensuring data practices comply with regulations of all geographies under remit
- Understanding of accounting principles, data flows and regulatory landscape - BCBS239, B3R, CCAR, IFRS9 etc.
- Support the management and monitoring of operational risk in the field of data management
- Support the creation and governing of relationships between data elements across different systems
- Support helping to define HSBC Data Quality guidelines, procedures, standards, methods, tools and processes and ensure enforcement
- Perform Root cause analysis and fix DQ issues.
- Support the management and oversight of the whole data lifecycle, from record creation to disposal (Information Lifecycle Management)
- Support ensuring the data retention schedule is kept to across the organisation
