Lead Data Scientist
As a Lead Data Scientist here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for providing project guidance on data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling. You will oversee and prioritize data science projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership and support to the data science team as well as cross-functionally collaborating to understand and identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business value.
You will report directly to our [Title] and you'll work out of our Bangalore, India location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the business by optimizing processes, reducing costs, and identifying growth opportunities through actionable insights derived from data analysis.
- 6+ years of experience within data analysis, statistical modeling, or another related field
- Proven experience leading data science teams and delivering successful projects
- Strong project management and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics models and algorithms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and formulate data-driven solutions
- Mentor and guide junior Data Scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights to support business decision-making
- Drive innovation within the team, exploring new methodologies and technologies to enhance analytical capabilities
Technical Skills:
Machine learning: Proven ability to design, develop and implement machine learning models (classification, regression, etc.)
Statistical Modeling: Strong foundation in statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
Data Analysis: Expertise in data wrangling, cleaning, and analysis.
Programming: Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data manipulation and analysis. (Big data technologies like Spark or Hadoop are a plus)
- Bachelor's degree or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
- Experience in leading and ownership of complex data projects
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align data science initiatives with business objectives
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
