Role Overview:
- Doing independent research, analyze, and present data as assigned
- Expected to work in close collaboration with the EXL team and clients on general insurance actuarial projects (premium trends, pricing, planning, etc.) for US markets
- Critically examine and deep dive into models
- Work may involve and not limited detailed documentation for rate revision, rate review, pricing models, valuation reports and preparing presentations
- Involve in insurance ratemaking-calculation of the indicated rate level change for a segment of an insurer’s book of business
- Work with finance teams for actuarial inputs
- Need to work on starting point for determining the indicated rate level change (typically a collection of historical data showing dollar amounts) of premiums and losses
- Create summary of expense provisions
- Run scenarios to be shared with chief actuary or lead or finance teams
- Collaborate with data analyst, data scientist in the team to make them understand on actuarial concepts
- Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Data Privacy and Protection Guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete understanding of the current state of affairs and problem statement
- Interacting with clients on regular basis, understanding their requirements and transforming that into business framework and providing actuarial solutions
- Experience in data extraction and data manipulation in Excel, R, Python, SAS
- Experience in data control and data automation
- In-depth data analysis like identifying major trends, univariate and multi-variate analysis
- Personal and commercial lines general insurance pricing, reserving for US insurance markets
- Knowledge of general insurance domain and P&C actuarial concepts is a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences
- Good to have IAI or IFOA and candidates having cleared 2-4 CT exams will be preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience, with good understanding of P&C actuarial concepts - pricing, reserving and valuation
- Exposure to US general insurance market is preferable
- Strong ability to learn technical and business knowledge
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges
- Is able to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe
