Ability to handle both pre-editing and copyediting while adhering to a methodical working style.
Understanding of the editorial workflow and the ability to copyedit the content in line with the customer expectations.
Demonstrate consistency and maintain high-quality standards throughout the editing process, meeting specified deadlines.
Thoroughly review manuscripts, identify inconsistencies, and make corrections with the author's consensus.
Attention to detail and a commitment to perfection.
Ability to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and syntax, as well as make constructive suggestions and raise queries to authors.
Contribute to team improvement in terms of quality and productivity.
Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.
Eligibility:
Graduates with a technical or science-based degree are preferred.
Should have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in copy editing of books or journals for a reputable publisher.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
Should be an enthusiastic learner with a passion for reading and editing.
Capable of handling both language editing and technical editing.
Experience in handling up to Level 2 copy editing.
Hands-on experience/exposure to various style guides and manuals.
