Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in laboratory procedures and techniques, as well as excellent organizational skills. The Lab Technician will be responsible for performing various tasks to support laboratory operations and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of experiments and tests.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses following standard procedures and protocols.
- Prepare samples, specimens, and reagents for testing and analysis.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Record and document test results, observations, and data accurately and in accordance with established guidelines.
- Assist in the development and optimization of laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Maintain inventory levels of laboratory supplies and reagents, and reorder as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols in the laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with other team members and researchers to accomplish project goals and objectives.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Proven experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks and recording data.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office and laboratory software.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry laboratory equipment and supplies as needed.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, depending on project requirements.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in a laboratory setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Certification as a Laboratory Technician (e.g., MLT, CLT).
- Experience with specific laboratory techniques or methodologies relevant to the position.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and practices.
