Job Description
Position Title: Lab Assistant – R&D (Flooring)
Department: R&D
Reports to: Dy. Technology Manager
Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing the testing of Epoxy Flooring Products RM, PM and FG as per the specification and Test Method.
- Responsible for performing the testing of Intermediates and Finished products as per the specification and Test Method
- Ensuring the recording of test results in Hard copy as well in soft copy
- Capable for the modification/Correction of pigments for Ral Colour Matching
- Ensuring the stock of raw materials, Packing material/ Chemicals and other consumables item for laboratory which are being used for our Testing and development.
- Responsible and ensure all the lab equipment’s are maintained in good condition and taking part actively in lab Housekeeping.
- To ensure compliance to ISO and EHS Standards
- Ensure good housekeeping and 5S in Lab.
- Must be expert in cube casting, demolding, and testing as per the schedule of test date.
- Working knowledge in instrument handling (Weighing balance, Lab Mixers, Moisture meter, Compression machine, Tensile Strength /Abrasion tester, pH meter, Viscometers etc… )
- Has working experiences in R&D or Technical service of Construction chemicals laboratory / Application team.
- Flooring Application skill by Trowel/ Brush etc.
- Be able to work and collaborate with team professionally, work & manage himself independently as well – remote management.
- Good Written / Reading skills in English
- Committed to Hard Work of testing and handling material (Lab batches)
- Knowledge (basic) in Computer operation
- Maintaining secrecy, safeguarding confidential information & complying with company policies
Major Activities:
- To do all types of testing and application work related to Flooring and coating products, includes both chemical and physical test of RM/FG
- To do Lab scale trials and Plant Scale trials at different Customers joint test
- To provide technical support to sales Marketing when required for site application.
- To provide support to production during trial batch manufacturing, support to QC for testing of new and regular products.

Education:
Diploma (Civil/Chemical) or BSc (Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry)
Experience:
2-3 years’ experience in Application of Flooring, Quality Control, chemical analysis, testing of raw material and finished goods, (Preferably Polyurethane / SMP / Epoxy / Acrylics). (Construction chemical is preferable)
Qualifications
Education:
Diploma (Civil/Chemical) or BSc (Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry)
