  • Job Purpose

The incumbent will be part of the International Communications vertical within Corporate Communications, co-leading the development and implementation of Air India's International PR strategy and plans across several countries. The incumbent will be responsible for telling stories of Air India's ongoing transformation programme across functions; our role as a flag-bearer of a modern, progressive India; our expanding network; and our world-class customer experience.
  • Key Accountabilities

  • Actively contribute to the development of Air India's International Communications strategy and plans with clear objectives and budgets across multiple markets to enhance the airline's reputation, promote its products, services, India as an attractive destination, new and current destinations, as well as its corporate activities, including executive profiling, citizenship, etc.
  • Proactively identify PR opportunities to promote the airline, its network, products and services.
  • Provide counsel, guidance, and messaging to executives participating in media engagement activities.
  • Manage media enquiries, draft press releases, briefing documents, backgrounders, speeches, and other communication materials.
  • Manage retained PR agency/agencies and/or consultants across regions.
  • Organise press trips and experiences.
  • Ensure maximum preparedness for crisis communication and manage crises in accordance with laid down protocols.
  • Partner the Commercial, Operations, Customer Experience, Inflight Services, and other teams on oversight of company activities.
  • Support social media and digital marketing activities on company-s owned channels.

  • Skills Required for the role

Strong PR/Communications experience, in an in-house or PR agency role
Advanced level of verbal and written English language skills. Foreign language would be an advantage.
Great interpersonal and networking skills
Proven experience of being a strategic and creative thinker
Advanced level of understanding on how to write for the media and how the media works
Awareness and appreciation of foreign cultures
Attention to detail and a keen interest in the airline business/aviation sector

High number of coverage in prominent titles of specified regions and markets
Ensure high quality of media coverage across
Increase share of voice in relevant markets
Successful crisis management
Management of media relations
Delivery of error-free communication materials
