Job Title: Head of Legal: APAC
Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Head of Legal: APAC to become part of our Global legal team. The ideal candidate should possess robust expertise in international contracting within the technology industry. Their primary responsibilities will revolve around facilitating commercial contracts and offering strategic legal guidance to our APAC-based entities. In this role, you'll oversee legal affairs for our APAC entities and act as a legal advisor to stakeholders in the region, serving as a vital business partner.
Responsibilities:

Support our organization as a trusted legal business partner to the organization. This will include:

  • Develop and implement legal strategies that align with the company's business goals in the APAC region.
  • Provide proactive and strategic legal advice on a wide range of issues, including commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
  • Advise executives on legal matters related to commercial matters and ensure alignment on contracting between commercial teams and the senior management.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the APAC region.
  • Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities and propose risk mitigation strategies.
  • Implement and maintain effective compliance programs and policies.
  • Manage and oversee legal disputes and litigation matters in the APAC region.
  • Collaborate with external counsel when necessary and represent the company's interests in legal proceedings.
  • Providing project management of Legal steps on strategic contracts from identification of Legal issues through to contract execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business decisions.
  • Partnering with our legal operations team to improve systems and legal efficiencies across the business.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in law from an accredited university or equivalent.
  • Qualified attorney with a minimum of 10-15 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) practicing law at top-tier legal firm or international corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in technology law. Experience in the Media and entertainment industry would be preferential.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.
  • Sound judgment and ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
