Role description

Lead the biodiversity initiatives at various locations with reference to Biodiversity Management Plans, Environment Clearance and Forest Clearance Conditions.

Provide support in presenting Tata Steel achievements at Regional Conservation Forum and World Conservation Congress.

The technical review of BMP implementation will include checking of scientific methods for implementing an activity on ground. The objective of this review is to maintain the integrity of concept. The current engagement will include three annual technical reviews by national expert at all sites

Organize capacity building workshops for staff on business, biodiversity and ecosystem issues.

Develop key themes and best practices for Environment / biodiversity / sustainability management plan their implementation as applicable

Coordinate and track engagement with IUCN and other agencies for
biodiversity, Natural Capital,
SDF etc. projects across
Company level.

Support and advice site staff in reporting on the biodiversity conservation efforts at each mine site, reporting against key biodiversity performance indicators and review of SoPs


Skills

Technical Competencies
  • Understanding of biodiversity and regulatory aspects for steel and mining, especially in the areas governed by MoEFCC

Other details

B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Environmental Engineering or M.Sc./ PhD in Environmental Science/Biodiversity/Forestry / Biological Sciences (Preferably in Botany or Zoology) or Post Graduate/ Masters Diploma in Forestry Management/ Natural Resource Management.
