Global Process OwnerSupply Chain Planning - AP Process Excellence | BASF Agricultural Solutions

Your job


We are in search of a visionary and results-oriented Global Process Owner (GPO) for Supply Chain Planning to lead and optimize our global Supply Chain Planning processes within our dedicated Global Process Excellence Team. Supply Chain Planning covers the areas of Supply (Network) Planning and Detailed (Production) Scheduling. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Supply Chain operations, exceptional leadership abilities, and a passion for driving process improvement and innovation. As the GPO for Supply Chain Planning, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing our organization's Supply Chain strategy, efficiency, and resilience.


Key responsibilities


  • Process Ownership: Assume complete ownership of the Supply Chain Planning process from rough-cut supply planning to detailed scheduling and be the link to sales and operations planning (S&OP), and demand-supply synchronization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Global Standardization: Collaborate with global, regional and local teams and stakeholders to establish and enforce global supply planning standards, best practices, and methodologies. Drive consistency in supply planning processes across different regions and business units.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate the Supply Chain Planning process to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains. Lead process redesign initiatives to enhance supply fulfillment, inventory turnover, and overall Supply Chain responsiveness.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure that Supply Chain Planning activities align with the organization's strategic objectives and market dynamics. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and communicate Supply Chain strategies and KPIs.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies within the Supply Chain Planning process, including scenario analysis, supplier risk assessment, and contingency planning. Proactively address potential disruptions to Supply Chain operations.
  • Technology Integration: Partner with IT teams to leverage advanced planning and optimization tools, such as Advanced Planning Systems (APS) and Supply Chain analytics platforms. Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance planning capabilities.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the Supply Chain Planning process. Provide regular reporting and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Community Leadership: Lead and mentor a community of global, regional and local business process experts within the Process Excellence Team. Provide guidance, support, and expertise to enhance supply planning capabilities across the organization.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts associated with process improvements and technology implementations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful adoption of new processes and tools.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Procurement, Production, Logistics, and Finance, to gather input, align planning efforts, and drive successful project execution. Serve as the primary point of contact for Supply Chain Planning-process related inquiries.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Stay current with industry trends and emerging best practices in Supply Chain Planning and process optimization. Integrate innovative approaches to enhance planning capabilities.
  • Talent Development: Mentor and guide a team of process experts within the Process Excellence Community (PEC). Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance their skill sets and capabilities.
  • Develop and safeguard: AP’s Process Architecture / Framework, BPM Methods & Conventions, Governance
  • Main interface to GB and GD Process Owner community: Be the main contact person for all the existing Process Owners of GB and GD to ensure that AP specific process requirements and needs are fulfilled.

Your team


In this challenging position you will give coaching and guidance to a global community of global, regional and local Process Experts team. You will report to our ‘Process Excellence Team Lead and act as the right hand and sparring partner of Global and Regional Leadership in AP.


Your Profile


Experience and Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) is advantageous.
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Planning, with a focus on global Supply Chain operations and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working in Agriculture is a plus.

  • Process Excellence: Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives, implementing best practices, and optimizing Supply Chain Planning processes for global organizations.
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and detail-oriented approach to decision-making.
  • Change Agent: Demonstrated experience in driving change management efforts and managing stakeholders across various organizational levels.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with advanced planning systems (APS), Supply Chain analytics tools, and data-driven decision-making. Ability to leverage technology for process enhancements.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Global Perspective: Understanding of global Supply Chain operations, market dynamics, and cultural nuances.
  • Innovation Mindset: A commitment to fostering innovation and driving continuous improvement in Supply Chain Planning processes.
