What you'll be doing
- Develop and maintain high-quality, responsive web applications using JavaScript while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, and backend engineers to deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Emphasize and enforce an attention to detail approach in frontend development including ensuring user interface consistency.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize applications for speed and scalability.
- Contribute to the improvement of development processes and tools to enhance team productivity.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development and propose innovative solutions to technical challenges.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Maintain flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business.
- Work with QA/Testing staff, project managers, technical leads, and subject matter experts to plan and execute automated and performance tests.
- Research available tools and participate in initiatives to implement those that will cost-effectively enhance testing capabilities and product quality.
- Research and identify root causes of performance issues in partnership with architects, developers, and network and system engineers.
- Maintain awareness of the state of the industry and evaluate emerging trends/developments that may benefit the organization.
- Writing automated tests at unit, integration and functional levels and manage code quality within the team
- Analyze and maintain existing software applications
- Discover and fix programming bugs
- Troubleshooting builds and deployments
- Assisting with support escalations
What we're looking for
- Strong software development skills in one backend technology. We will be primarily focussing in JavaScript (ES6), NodeJS, jQuery and Java.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming and API Integration
- Experience working in a self starter environment
- Experience of agile methodologies
- Knowledge of working in CI environment
- Understanding service oriented architecture with extensible APIs
- Knowledge in maven, code compilation, source code management with GIT
- SQL database or relational database skills
- Strong research skills (tools/root cause analysis).
- Good oral and written communication.
- Basic understanding of working within budgets.
- Understanding of industry trends.
- Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement practices.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of industry experience in Front End development (excluding internship)
- BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
