Role: Analyst - Insurance
Role & Responsibilities:
- The role requires the individual to have an analytical and research-based approach.
- The role impacts the investors group deeply, where they advise them on the intrinsic check points/inquiries that needs to be undertaken before an investment decision is made.
- Detailed review and analysis of competitive landscape.
- Understanding of various products prevalent in both life and general insurance
- Comparative study within the industry/competing/peer firms to draw up analysis which will strengthen the confidence of the investors.
- The role has a deep impact in the DRHP filing situations, the person will be primary resource who will share critical insights on the risk factors
- The role strengthens the Equity Research teams review on specific sector/industry/firms
- The role will gradually also focus on Environment Social Governance and will make a deep impact
- The role over a period of 12 to 18 months can move into an independent client facing role
Required Background:
- 1 to 4 years of industry experience in life insurance or general insurance sector, preferably life insurance. Experience by doing an offshore analyst role or being a part of a corporate in their business analytics team.
- Should have the ability to synthesis insights from accounting and financial information disclosed by companies and regulators.
- Strong understanding of insurance accounting and a keen interest in equity markets.
- Good writing and proficiency in MS excel
- Preferably a CA or CA/CFA. Actuary certification is even better.
- Strong technical/conceptual understanding of finance and valuations
- Strong statistical and analytical skills to assess the economic performance / perform analysis of companies and industries
- Strong business acumen
- A multi-tasker with an eye for details
- MS Office skills - should be good in MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Word
