- Implementation of EHS Policy, guidelines, procedures & compliance to legal requirements to establish a real culture of Environment, Health and Safety etc.
- Ensure that an organization is operating in accordance with environmental guidelines and goals.
- Examining Environmental Protection (EP) / Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) activities to determine where improvements can be made and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation.
- Review the manufacturing processes, operations, environmental data assessments, identifying and resolving environmental problems and ensuring necessary changes are implemented.
- Focus on minimizing waste, using renewable energy sources, reducing pollution and creating long-lasting, efficient systems.
- Support factory EHS for Environmental protection compliances and policies implementation. Sound knowledge of Air, water act, waste management (Plastic, E-waste, battery waste, etc.) rules & acts.
- Support factory EHS to Establish and monitor Eco Efficiency @ Siemens. Providing solutions to environmental-related problems such as waste disposal, health, water, air and pollution control.
- Support factory EHS to Establish and implement action plans to achieve environment & sustainability targets in coordination with Business.
- Data collection related to sustainability measures & environmental legal compliances.
- Drive various resource efficiency related initiatives such as plastic waste reduction, waste to landfill reduction, paper, and other natural resources consumption reduction etc.
- Develop environmental competences within factory team and identify competent external service providers for environmental protection Management. Initiate and organize training on Environment & sustainability topics.
- Prepare Environment related procedures, guidelines and communicate.
- Conduct / actively participate in meetings with various functions in the factory to drive sustainability topic, monitoring & coordinating with team for action items arising out of the meetings.
- Organize & conduct daily / weekly/ monthly environmental / sustainability shop round & meeting with factory colleagues for implementation of environment & sustainability measures.
- Plan and conduct EHS assessment/audit in the factory & take corrective/preventive actions promptly.
- Participating in EHS core team meetings in identifying aspects & hazards at the workplace/facilities and establish control measures. Guiding & training factory personnel in implementing identified measures.
- Identify near misses, unsafe acts & unsafe conditions related to environment as well as safety and ensure corrective /preventive actions. Analyze UA/UC trends for underlying issues, suggest corrective measures & follow up for compliance.
- Environment Incident reporting and communication (escalation), investigation, analysis & recommendation of corrective & preventive actions. Implementation of lessons learnt.
- Support factory EHS for environmental reporting (SESIS).
- Co-ordinate & engage with all the functions in the factory for effective participation on EHS implementation.
Desire Qualification & Experience
- BE/ Dip. (Electrical / Mechanical)
- Environment Engineering diploma / degree.
- Sound knowledge about Microsoft PowerPoint and excel is required.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in working across industry sectors (preferably manufacturing/infrastructure) plus experience of working as Environment engineer / expert to identify environmental risk and opportunities as well as sustainability issues and to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Skills in data collection, evaluating environmental impact, effective report writing, communication, project management, problem-solving, and a deep commitment to driving positive change
- Knowledge about applicable Environmental statutory requirements
- Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety recognized by State Technical Board of Education will be an added advantage.
- Certified Lead/ Internal Auditor of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 will be preferred.
- Have good communication skills and proficient in reporting.
- Preferably resident of Mumbai / Thane
- This role is based in Transformer factory Kalwa (Mumbai)
